Here it is.. My news i’ve been busting to share with you is that i’ve just signed to the fab australian label @cheatin_hearts_records/ @spunkrecs for my upcoming release. The team is an absolute dream and my manager Karen Waters and I are so stoked to be working alongside them to bring you epic new things. After years of running my own race, flying the independent flag and wearing all the billions of hats, it feels great to be adding some supportive peeps to the crew!

Thanks to Luke & Aaron for their support, here’s the kind words (and another cool side note) the legends had to share;

"We're extremely excited to welcome Melody Moko to the Cheatin' Hearts/Spunk family.

Melody is one of our favourite local country artists, so needless to say we're honoured to be working with her!

Melody's last album 'Two Kids & A Radio' is an absolute Australian classic in our opinion, debuting at #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Chart and winning her Best New Talent at the Golden Guitars and Country Song of the Year at the QMA's for the single 'Like Hank Would’”.

I'm also stoked to be heading to Wollongong this Friday to play Yours & Owls Laneways Live Festival, alongside @thepinheadz and @henrywagons . Free show in Globe Lane! I’ll be on the main stage at 5pm. See you there.

MELODY MOKO CLOSES THE CHAPTER ON “TWO KIDS AND A RADIO” WITH FINAL SINGLE

The rise of singer-songwriter, Melody Moko, has been nothing short of impressive. Off the back of her acclaimed debut album, “The Wreckage”, her star has shone brightly thanks to the continuing success of her second album, “Two Kids and A Radio”.

The album has been decorated in glowing reviews and awards including a Golden Guitar Award for New Talent of The Year, two further nominations for Female Artist and Alt Country Album of the Year, a QMA (Queensland Music Award) for Country Song of The Year (“Like Hank Would”) and as a finalist in the prestigious Australian Music Prize.

It has also birthed no less than seven chart singles and now comes the eighth and final single in the form of “Save Me Rock N’ Roll”.

“Save Me Rock N’ Roll”, tells the story of a musician, who constantly feels they are falling short regardless of working themself to the bone.

The bank’s still calling …

My rent’s still due …

I’m still tryin’ to see the good in what I do …

You got me good …

I’m losing my control …

One more time …

Save me rock n’ roll …

Melody Moko is an artist who does not shy away from writing and singing about the more difficult aspects in life.

While talking about “Two Kids and A Radio”, Moko described it as, “the MA version, the indie film, the nude scenes, the gross things and the stuff that makes listeners uncomfortable but needs to be said”.

“Save Me Rock N’ Roll” is the full stop on “Two Kids and A Radio” … stay tuned as the next chapter is about to begin. You’re not going to want to miss it.

MELODY MOKO CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH NEW SINGLE

Melody Moko once described her album, “Two Kids and A Radio”, as ‘the MA version, the indie film, the nude scenes, the gross things and the stuff that makes viewers or listeners uncomfortable but needs to be said’.

“Never Get High” is one of the raunchier moments that always raise a few eyebrows. It’s also become one of the staples of Moko’s live set, a fan favourite that gets everyone unconsciously moving along to the irresistible groove.

“With a New Orleans second line inspired vibe, Never Get High is an irreverent innuendo filled track that compares the pull of illicit substances to sexual desire”, says Moko.

“With a definite Margo Price influence, Never Get High is the “I Touch Myself” anthem of the record”.

Melody Moko is an artist who does not shy away from any subject and is an inspiring voice for female empowerment and equality.

“Never Get High” impacts radio on International Women’s Day – Tuesday 8th March.

MELODY MOKO DROPS NEW THREE TRACK SINGLE

Melody Moko has, without a doubt, been the break out Australian country artist of 2021. She continues momentum with the release of the new single, “Good Man”.

The song is part of the track listing on the deluxe edition of her award-winning album, “Two Kids and A Radio”, and the lead cut on her new three-track single released on Friday 3rd September.

“Good Man” has quickly become a firm fan favourite and shows exactly why Melody is one of the most acclaimed new singer-songwriters in the country.

“Good Man was a track that was originally earmarked for Two Kids & A Radio. When we heard how beautifully the demo came together we thought it was so special just in it’s natural state that we decided not to touch it, to save it for it’s own moment”, says Melody.

“I wrote this about a close friend. It was my comment in a conversation that wasn’t mine to have, a great way for a songwriter and friend to give their advice!”

The new three-track single also features the emotive, “In My Father’s House”, and Melody’s stellar version of Dolly Parton’s classic Christmas song, “Hard Candy Christmas”.

“I’m so excited to have this release come into the world featuring Good Man and another demo close to my heart, as well as a bonus Christmas cover of Dolly Parton’s Hard Candy Christmas, with Two Kids and A Radio producer, Neilson Hubbard on drums. As we were unable to travel, we sent this track to Nashville for him to his magic mark on!”

“Good Man” is available from Friday 3rd September 2021 through MGM Distribution.

EVERYTHINGS COMING UP ROSES FOR GOLDEN GUITAR WINNER, MELODY MOKO

Riding high on the success of her Golden Guitar win for New Talent of The Year and her smash hit, “Mama”, Melody Moko’s success continues following her song, “Like Hank Would”, being named QMA Country Song of The Year.

Presented by Troy Cassar-Daley, a stunned Moko took to the stage and announced “two hours ago I was breast feeding my new born baby and now I’m here winning an award - so that’s pretty surreal!”

Melody and husband Michael welcomed their third child just weeks ago – Maisy Loretta – a sibling for Miller and Maggie who just adore their new baby sister!

You’d think a newborn would be keeping Melody extremely busy – but she’s also found time to work on some new music, prep a new single and is about to dive back into live performance. Her first show since giving birth to Maisy is as special guest to Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham (The Waifs) at their show at The Triffid in Brisbane this Thursday 27th May.

This Friday 28th May sees the release of her latest single, “Coming Up Roses”, taken from her acclaimed album, “Two Kids and A Radio”. The day also marks the pre-order announcement of a special deluxe version of the album due for release on Friday 11th June and features 4 new tracks.

MELODY MOKO RELEASES ANTHEM FOR THE MUSOS!

“My brother keeps asking when I’ll get a real job …” sings Melody Moko on her brand new single, “Mama”.

It’s an age-old question that everyone in the music business has been asked on many occasions and one that is responded to within this track.

“I found, as a mum, and as a woman, I was always being asked by all the other mums, what my REAL job was”, says Melody.

“Mama is for the doubters, the ones who always ask musicians when they are going to get a real job. I just got tired of being asked that question so I wrote this song instead – its one of my favourite feels on the record”.

The single is also timed as a bit of tongue in cheek irony upon the arrival of her third child due in March.

As the fourth track to be lifted from her ARIA #1 Australian Country Album, “Two Kids and A Radio” - “Mama” - comes off the back of her three Golden Guitar Award nominations for ALT Country Album, Female Artist and New Talent of the Year.

Produced by Neilson Hubbard (Mary Gauthier, Kim Richey, Matthew Ryan) and co-produced by Michael Moko - the 12-track release is gathering mass acclaim from industry and fans and already boasts a trifecta of hit singles – “Last Cigarette”,  “Benjamin” and “Like Hank Would”.

“Two Kids & A Radio” provides listeners with a new picture of Melody Moko, one that is a product of her life on the road, as a mother, a woman and, particularly a woman in the music industry … and “Mama” looks set to continue down this beautiful path of success that she is currently on.
